Cannabis is one of the oldest domesticated plants and has been part of human culture in religious, spiritual, and magical practice since the pre-historic age. No plant species on Earth exhibits the same range of variety - or the same intense responsiveness to humankind.

In this three part series, I draw on my personal experience as a keeper of the plant's mysteries, from more than a decade of learning from those who grow, revere, and worship with the sacred herb, from the Rastafari brethren of Ethiopia and Jamaica, to the Hashish cults of the Near East to the Lamas of the Tibetan mountains and Saddhus of India.

In part one, we set the stage, exploring the rich history of the spiritual use of cannabis up to and through the Biblical age. We come to understand, appreciate, and learn to work with the particular mysteries of this remarkable plant for meditation, visualization, spell work and ritual.

In part two, we explore the unique botanical wonders of cannabis and learn more than a half dozen methods of extraction and refinement that can be applied to all plant magick, spagyrics and Rootwork. We will discuss the phytoconstituency (fancy name for the plant chemicals) of all plants and how cannabis serves as a guide and an interpreter across the plant kingdom.

In part three, we discuss the symbols and mysteries handed down by the keepers of the plant. How did it earn the name Marijuana and what are the sacred meanings and symbols there? What can we learn from cannabis about the nature of life and reality? We will unpack and examine the countless mysteries the keepers of the sacred herb have maintained since pre-history.
