Enter the Equinox Experience.

September 26 to October 1, 2026, Moab, Utah.

Five days and nights of guided personal ritual work, spiritual development, sacred teaching, and off-grid community life in the red desert.

The Equinox Experience is intimate and intentional. We gather as a mutually supportive community to learn, share, and engage with the vast desert, while giving each person room to work and grow individually.

Sacred time in sacred space.

Why This Retreat

The Equinox Experience is an opportunity to immerse ourselves in our spiritual work without distractions. It is not another conference or series of lectures and workshops. It is five days and nights of deep teaching, authentic sharing, and real, embodied ritual and practice.

Over five days, the rhythm of ordinary life gives way to the rhythm of the retreat. There is teaching and learning, time living with the sacred land, delicious communal meals, deep friendship, detailed ritual preparation, and the full design, development, and execution of a complete personal ritual from beginning to end.

Whether you are a seasoned practitioner seeking like-minded souls and the time, place, resources, and teachers to develop and practice your craft the way you have always wanted, or a complete beginner drawn to spirituality and magic but not sure where to begin or how to proceed, this Experience is created with you in mind.

Our facilitators bring nearly a century of combined experience across a range of lineages and traditions. They come together to teach, to learn, and to hold the work in mutual love and respect.

Our Equinox Experience community stays intentionally small: thirteen guest spots for single guests or paired double registrations. We arrive as individuals from all over the map and gather in this truly magical place to form a temporary ritual community in one of Earth's most unique and beautiful landscapes.

What The Retreat Includes

Whether you fly into Grand Junction and take the included retreat shuttle, or drive directly to the site, you will arrive at a desert campsite like you have never experienced. Nestled into the red cliffs under the breathtaking stone arches, our small camp provides a home base for you to enter the retreat rhythm.

You will notice the peace and powerful silence of the desert before settling into camp and joining the group on the couches in the mist-cooled lounge for a welcome reception to meet and connect with the small group of fellow seekers and practitioners.

You will learn about magic, metaphysics, herbalism, sacred symbols, conjuring spirits, working with natural materials to create and empower sacred ritual objects, and much more.

Each day, you will take another step in ritual design, weaving deeper layers of symbol and meaning, preparing materials and ritual objects by your own hand, and shaping a personal working to meet your own goals with the guidance and assistance of veteran practitioners.

Across the week, you will enjoy resetting to the natural rhythm. You will nourish your body with chef-prepared meals, your mind with profound sacred learning, and your spirit with genuine community and powerful ritual.

From pre-dawn desert hikes to laughs and lessons around the nighttime fires, each day is full of opportunity to explore and expand, with plenty of space for quiet time, rest, reflection, and room to let the magnificent landscape enchant your soul.

By the end of the Experience, you will not just have learned about magical rites and rituals. You will have developed and completed your own full ritual working to fulfill your intentions.

The Central Work

The main working of the retreat unfolds over several days.

Each guest will be guided in creating a ritual working shaped around their own goal or intention. Working with our facilitators, you will clarify your aim, access its emotional power, and carry it into symbols, materia, and ritual action.

From there, the work progressively takes its shape. Guests gather and prepare materia in relationship with the desert according to traditional teachings. Working directly with the land, you will craft ritual objects, empower them, and employ them in a living rite with the endless desert sky as your witness.

As the retreat continues, the pieces are prepared, marked, prayed over, charged, and carried into ritual. The red dirt, the stone caverns, the vast starry sky, the blazing fire, and the true darkness form the liminal space outside of the mundane world: the temple and the altar for workings that transcend ordinary reality.

By the end, each of you will have designed, empowered, and performed a working with skillful guidance and instruction, completing an act that echoes into your future, and coming away with the knowledge and experience to advance in your practice.

A Sample Day

As the sun emerges from the inky blanket of night, camp starts stirring and the smell of coffee drifts through the canyon. You may choose to rise early and hike to watch the sunrise, enjoy group meditation, sit in personal prayer, or rest in the deeply held quiet. You might take a shower or do some journaling until you hear the meal bell, when we gather to nourish ourselves for the day before moving into the morning session.

After a delicious lunch, we move into the lounge to escape the midday sun for another session of practicum, design work, material preparation, or instruction. The late afternoon opens up to free time to explore, collect your thoughts, socialize, or work one-on-one with facilitators.

After dinner, the group returns to evening ritual, then sharing around the fire under a breathtaking blanket of stars.

Who This Is For

This retreat is for people who want spiritual work to be a lived experience.

It may be a good fit if you are drawn to mysticism, spirituality, conjure, ritual, sacred making, deep wisdom, intentional community, warm firelight, and the kind of magic that can happen when a small group steps outside ordinary life for a few days.

It is not built as a luxury resort experience, and it is not meant to be a passive class. There will be comfort, care, and beauty, but the center of the retreat is participation.

Beginners are welcome when they are sincere. Experienced practitioners are welcome when they can come humbly and let the work unfold with the group.

You do not need to arrive with advanced training; you do need to arrive willing to participate, listen, and practice.

Double spaces are available for partners, spouses, or close friends. For the right pair, making the journey together can become one of the most memorable parts of the retreat: witnessing each other, supporting each other, and crossing the threshold side by side.

Both guests in a double registration should be prepared to participate in the retreat, even if they come with different levels of experience.

Why Guests Trust This Work

Entering our third year, we are keeping the Equinox Experience small so the group can form a real, cohesive field of practice.

The retreat is shaped by direct guidance, shared meals, camp rhythm, spiritual seriousness, and several days for the ceremonial arc to deepen without being rushed.

Brother Moses Shenassa is the founder of Holy Mountain Spiritual Temple and the creator of the Equinox Experience Retreat. A teacher, full-time conjurer, diviner, and spiritual healer, he brings decades of ritual practice, sacred study, botanical knowledge, and hands-on ceremonial leadership to the retreat.

Khozmiq NeWage is an intergenerational Hoodoo doctor, certified hypnotherapist, Prophet, founder of the House of Zion Spiritual Temple, and a teacher of conjure, divination, and traditional magic. He brings lineage, symbolic depth, and practical ritual intelligence to the retreat.

Grecia Ordoñez is a fourth-generation Espiritista, Yayi Nkisi, intuitive tarot reader, and teacher who has led mentorship sessions and spiritual retreats centered on ancestral connection, spiritual development, and breaking generational patterns. She brings a grounded, tradition-rooted, and intuitively guided presence to the retreat.

The aim is to hold a real working carefully: enough structure for people to feel supported, enough depth for the work to matter, and enough space for each person to come away with an Experience they will carry and that will carry them through the year to come.

Guest Experience

I came in with no expectations and honestly thought I might hate it. I ended up loving it.

It was surprisingly easy to turn off my phone, be present, and really settle into the moment. It felt deeply fulfilling.

It was a very diverse group, but we were all there for the same kind of experience, and that really brought us together.

My favorite part was the smaller group. It created real intimacy and made it easier for everyone to connect.

What stood out most was the depth of the ritual work. It felt like we moved beyond surface-level material into something deeper and more substantial.

I liked the balance. It still felt individually meaningful, but it also kept a real group center.

If you are considering it, do it. It is a life-changing experience, with like-minded people, great company, great food, and the beauty of the outdoors all working together.
