Devil's Shoestring Root is an extremely powerful plant ally used in Hoodoo and various systems of conjure.
In Hoodoo, the root is used to "tie up" or "trip up" evil and evildoers.
It is a common ingredient in my mojo bags, oils, and spiritual colognes, where I use the root to eliminate negative side effects of the work, and often to prevent interference with the other ingredients performing according to their owner's intent.
For example, Devil's Shoestring is added to a gambling hand to ward off the misfortune that is attracted to the winnings, it can be added to an attraction oil to prevent obsession, etc.
Devil's Shoestring is relied upon for protection of all sorts: it's used in law keep away formulas to ward off police and authorities, it's an important ingredient in protection formulas, and Devil's Shoestring is often prepared into bundles tied with red string that are hung over the doors and windows of the home to ward off evil spirits.
Because of its use against the Devil, I also use the root as part of many of my formulas for the Archangel Michael, who keeps the Devil chained at his feet.
