The Opossum is a clever night-stalker with a pouch for young and a natural resistance to poison.
Opossum is portrayed in lore as a classic trickster - at times a clown, at times cleverly extricating himself from danger. Like many tricksters, he is credited as a Fire-Bringer, a bringer, a source of fertility, and the bringer (or returner) of the Sun.
I work with Opossum to outmaneuver enemies - the ability to play dead and to survive poisoning give Opossum an innate defensive excellence.
