About Lucky Hand Root
Lucky Hand Root is a classic root of 19th and 20th century Hoodoo. Especially prized for attracting luck in gambling, business, and money, the root is commonly used in oils, carried in the pocket, and placed in mojo bags.
The Lucky Hand Root is also considered a powerful protective amulet against the Evil Eye, bad luck and misfortune.
Often worked alongside High John the Conqueror root, and combined with five-finger grass, lodestone (or magnetic sand from a lodestone), the lucky hand root is said to work on its owner's behalf to reach, grasp and hold what the owner is focused on attracting.
How to Use Lucky Hand Root
As with any root, begin by baptizing the Lucky Hand Root in liquor or spiritual cologne, giving your root a name, and wearing it close to your body.
To wake the root up, rub it between your thumb and forefinger until it warms up or gives off scent.
Instruct the root as to what you want it to reach and grasp for you. Some practitioners will use a length of string to tie some of what they want the root to grab to the palm of the root, according to the occult principle that "like attracts like". Money, winning ticket stubs, mercury dimes, and small coins or pieces of gold or silver can be tied to roots (depending on their size).
The root should be regularly fed with an appropriate spiritual oil or cologne (often Lucky Hand oil, made from ground and whole Lucky Hand root), and should be given thanks, and smoke / alcohol as a reward when it performs.
