    • Grind the black poppyseed and licorice root to a fine powder

          • If it can't be easily ground/powdered to mix, you may burn it to ash on charcoal first
        • Beginning at the wick end, carve your full name and date of birth into the purple candle lengthwise
        • Apply a THIN layer of Hidden Power formula to the purple candles and roll it in the powder to coat it.
          • You may wish to use a sprayer to get an even coat of the formula
          • you may wish to sprinkle additional powder on the candle.
          • Depending on your climate and candles, you may choose to mix the Hidden Power formula with a small amount (1/2-1 tsp) of petroleum jelly to dress the candle - note this will cause a bigger fire
        • Allow the candle to completely dry.
        • Set your plate on your cloth, and set your candles and onyx on it as below:
        • Wet the wicks of the black candles with Hidden Power formula
        • Focus your intention on the onyx stone as you wait for Midnight
        • At the stroke of midnight, use a match to light the two black candles
        • Allow your vision to shift; focus your attention on the shadows rather than the light of the flames
        • Light a match from each of the black candles, use these to light the purple candle as you say:
          • Shadows of the left and shadows of the right, I conjure you by these flames. By flame I invoke you, and by flame I banish you, and by flame, I command you to submit.
        • As the purple candle burns the first 1/3 of the way, visualize the shadows converging on the purple cloth, as you say:
          • You conjured shadows, gather close! Approach as my allies and find sanctuary as the banishing flame descends!
        • As the candle burns the second 1/3 of the way, visualize the shadows converging on the triangle of candles, as you say:
          • You conjured shadows, I offer you this light to eat into the fullness of your darkness. As you wrap yourselves around this light, so draw it into your hidden depths and be enlivened and empowered.
        • As the candle finishes burning, visualize the shadows entering the onyx stone as you say:
          • You conjured shadows, take sanctuary in this stone! Hide yourselves in it, that any who possess it be hidden in you!
        • Drop a few drops of Hidden Power formula on the onyx stone, and set the candles on their sides with their flames igniting the stone as you say:
          • You conjured shadows of midnight who will submit to this fire, I summon you, I command you, I bind you to this stone! You conjured shadows of midnight who cloak and muffle the words and deeds of man and beast, I summon you, I command you, I bind you to this stone! You conjured shadows of midnight, who swallow sight and smother vision, who will conceal me in all my doings when I call you, I summon you, I command you, I bind you to this stone!
        • Sprinkle the rest of your powder on the fire/wax/stone on the plate until the flames have died. Add 1/2 of your remaining Hidden Power formula to the powder/wax.
        • As the wax cools, use your hands to mold the wax and powder to form a shell around the onyx.
        • Place the purple cloth on the plate, gather it as a bundle around the wax/powder coated onyx and tie it tight.
        • Store the bundle in a hidden place. Never expose it to the light of day.
        • To use the amulet
          • Feed the bundle a few drops of Hidden Power.
          • Hold it firmly in your right hand while you hold a lit black candle in your left hand and say,
            • You conjured shadows of midnight bound to this stone, I summon you and I command you - conceal me in [the undertaking you want to be concealed in]! If any would see me, swallow that sight - if any would envision me, smother that vision - hide me in your darkness as midnight hides the black cat - shroud me in silence as stone is silent! You conjured shadows of midnight - hear my command and obey my words and I will feed and honor you and keep you from the light.

              • Blend together the resin incense into a powder
              • Rise before dawn on a Sunday, bathe and dress in clean clothes
              • Set up your altar as pictured below: Set a yellow/gold cloth, put down a white plate. Place your square mirror on the plate, with the candles at the four corners. Place the water goblet at the center of the mirror. Place the incense between you and the cloth.
              • Dress the four corners of the cloth and the four corners of the mirror with Ancient Master

              • Dress the candle wicks in Ancient Master
              • Beginning with the purple candle, light all four candles in a clockwise direction
              • As the incense charcoals become ready, sprinkle them with the blended incense
              • Gaze through the smoke at the reflections in the mirror and the water glass, and pronounce:
                • I, so-and-so son/daughter of so-and-so [father for a male, mother for a female] present myself in this hour to receive guidance and instruction from the Ancient Masters who draw near to me. I offer myself as a willing student, to receive your guidance and assistance, and to carry out your teachings and your instructions. I summon to me all those Ancient Masters who support my [highest good/truest path/most blessed journey/etc], and by the smoke and the fire, drive away all others. Ancient Masters, I call you and summon you and invite you to reveal your presence to me.
              • Allow your vision to shift. Continue to gaze, letting your eyes shift from seeing form to seeing movement. Focus your intention on calling to the masters in your spiritual court.
                • Gaze until you see/feel/hear/otherwise become aware of an additional presence.
                • When you do, add more incense to the coals.
              • Recite: Ancient Master, I welcome you and acknowledge your presence. I invite you to instruct me to my capacity with what I must know for now. I ask you to use your gifts and powers to communicate with me in a way that I will understand and to express to me things that I will comprehend. If there is any trait in myself that must be corrected or adjusted to carry out your instructions, I ask you to bring it to my attention with the guidance to rectify it. If there is a danger you must bring to my attention, I ask you to shelter me in your power and steer me from it, and inform me of how to avoid it again. If there is a message you must deliver to me, I ask that you deliver it to me in a way I will best understand it, whether in my thoughts [or by divination/in my dreams/at the altar/etc.]. If there is a sign you must show me, let it be a sign I will recognize. As you fulfill these things, I will accept and honor every thing that you communicate to me, and will submit faithfully to your guidance.
              • Allow the candles to burn down, remove the glass of water, the mirror, and the plate and set them aside for safe keeping. Empty the water glass. Reserve the water glass and plate for spiritual work - do not use them to eat or drink. Keep the mirror hidden away.
              • Bundle whatever remains of the candles in the cloth and tie the bundle shut.
              • Put the rest of the incense on the coals and smoke the bundle in the incense until it is finished.

            • To invoke the Ancient Master

              • Dress the wicks of the candles and the corners of the mirror with Ancient Master.
              • Light the candles, gaze into the reflections and recite:

                • Ask for guidance/assistance/clarification/etc. in your own words
              • When the candles burn down, bury anything that remains of them where you buried the bundle from the original ritual.

              • A red cloth
            • Procedure:
              • If you are competing against specific (known) individuals:
                • Write their names (and dates of birth, if available) on the eggs
                  • If there are fewer than 4, you may make duplicate eggs
                  • If there are more than 4, you may put more than one name on an egg
                • Using holy water, baptize each egg in the name(s) written on it.
                  • If more than one name per egg, turn the egg so you are baptizing a different face of it for each name.
              • If you are competing against non-specific (unknown) individuals:
                • Write "my opponent" or "my adversary" or "my competitor" on each egg. Be as specific as possible, ie "My competitor for a job at [xxxx]", etc.
              • Carve your full name and date of birth into the purple candle lengthwise, from the wick to the base.
              • On the rest of the purple candle, carve:
                • He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
              • On the brown candles, carve:
                • The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
              • On the black candles, carve:
                • My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
              • Set up your altar as pictured below: Set down a red cloth, with a white plate on top of it. Create a circle of ravine or dry creek dirt around the edges. Place the piece of iron in the center of the plate. Create a small mound of mountain or mountain stream dirt in the center of the piece of iron. Place the purple candle in the mound on the iron. Place the black candles in the circle of dirt around the edge of the plate. Place the brown candles in the circle of dirt around the edge of the plate. Place the four eggs on the corners of the cloth.
              • Begin by lighting the purple candle in the center of the plate and recite the verse from the candle:
                • He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
              • Next, light the four black candles in the corners of the plate and recite the verse from the candles:
                • My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
              • Next, light the four brown candles on the sides of the plat and recite the verse from the candles:
                • The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
              • As the candles burn, take each egg in turn and pass it counterclockwise through the flames of the black and brown candles, beginning with the egg at the top in the brown candle at the top (furthest from you) while reciting the verses for the black and brown candles.
                • Alternate the recitation of the verses.
                • Repeat 9 times for each egg, then return it to its place
                • Move clockwise to the next egg and repeat
              • Once you have passed all 4 eggs through the flames, roll the eggs counter-clockwise, so that each one ends up at the corner of the cloth 90 degrees counter-clockwise from where it started.
              • Once the purple candle is 2/3 burnt, add a few drops of Ultimate Victory formula to the mountain dirt
                • Allow the candle to ignite the dirt; if it doesn't catch on its own, you may carefully light it with the purple candle, or a match taking the flame from the purple candle
              • Once the mountain dirt is finished burning, carefully remove the piece of iron with the dirt and the melted purple candle and set it aside for a moment
              • Place the four eggs in the center of the plate
              • Take up the four corners of the red cloth and tie it into a bundle
                • If the brown and black candles are not yet burnt down, extinguish them by pressing the flames into the eggs and lay them in the circle of dirt.
              • Carry the bundle and the iron to a fire-proof place
              • Drop the piece of iron to smash the eggs inside the bundle
                • It's ok if the plate breaks
              • Pour half the remaining bottle of Ultimate Victory on the iron and ignite it with a match so the bundle catches
              • Allow the bundle to completely burn and the iron to cool, then carefully collect the piece of iron without burning yourself
              • Hide the piece of iron in a secret place when you're not using it
              • Bury the rest in a ditch or dry creek
            • To Activate the Charm
              • Place the piece of iron in a fireproof place
              • Splash some Ultimate Victory on the iron and light it on fire, allow it to burn until it goes out, reciting the three verses
              • Splash a few more drops of Ultimate Victory on the hot iron, and a few more on yourself
              • Allow the iron to cool and carry it in your right pocket when you need to compete.

              • Light the candle furthest from you and recite a prayer for your ancestors
                • You may use any prayer from your spiritual tradition, or one from your heart
                • You may use this adapted Spiritualist prayer from Alan Kardec if there's none you prefer:
                  • Bless us Holy Father, and accept with favor this prayer that I direct to you for the souls of my beloved ancestors. May they see your holy light so that their journey to eternity can be made easier. Permit your enlightened spirits to elevate my words and thoughts.
                  • You who I loved on this earth, hear my voice that calls to you affirming my love, and you who are a part of me whom I have never known, feel the love in my heart. God has allowed you to depart to freedom before me; I can not lament this without sounding egotistical, because it would express a desire for you to continue suffering the trials of this life. I can only wait with resignation for the time when I can join you in a world of spiritual freedom.
                  • I know that our separation is only momentary, and for as long as its duration may seem to me, it pales in light of the eternal joy that God promises his faithful. May His mercy preserve me from doing anything that would prolong this desired moment, and keep from me the thought that I will not find you when I leave the captivity of Earth.
                  • Oh! How sweet and consoling knowing that only a material veil keeps you from my eyes: that you can be at my side, see me and hear me as in the psat. Do not forget me as I will not forget you, may our thoughts not become confused. Know that thoughts of you will be with me to sustain me always.
                  • May the peace of the Lord be with you!
              • Light the next two candles closer to you and recite a prayer for your ancestral spirits to draw close and to draw to you the spirits of courageous and benevolent ancestors, known and unknown.
                • You may use any prayer appropriate to your tradition, or pray from your heart
                • You may use this Spiritualist prayer adapted from Kardec if you prefer:
                  • In the name of God Almighty, may the negative spirits be distant from this union, and may enlightened, courageous and benevolent ancestral spirits replace them and assist us in the battle against them.
                  • Negative spirits who inspire bad thoughts, treason, and lies in the minds of God's people, who give credit to foolery and abuse, I refute you with all of my strength and close my ears to your suggestions and reject you from my presence. Above all I desire that God grant you His mercy.
                  • Enlightened, courageous and benevolent ancestor spirits who God has assigned to assist me, grant me the strength to resist the influence of the negative spirits, and the necessary light so that I do not become the object of their perverse intentions. Draw unto me those courageous and benevolent ancestors known and unknown to me to be my strength and support.
              • Light the candle closest to you and pray for your assembled ancestors to be welcome in your home, in your life, in your soul and in your mind. Invite them to reside with you always.
                • You may use any prayer appropriate from your tradition, or simply pray from your heart.
                • If there's no prayer you prefer, you may use this Spiritualist prayer adapted from Kardec:
                  • Beloved spirits: guardian ancestors, who in God's infinite wisdom were chosen to watch over me and be my protectors in life's challenges: give me strength, valor and resignation. Inspire me to goodness, and deter me from bad intentions. May your sweet influence penetrate my soul. Allow me to recognize that a sincere ally is with me, one who guards against my suffering and partakes of my joys.
                  • I request of you courageous ancestors not to abandon me. I need your protections in order to carry the burdens of this life with the faith and love that God designates to me.
              • Allow all four candles to burn down. Place the remains of the candles in the four corners of the cloth.
              • Remove the plate and glass from the cloth, place them on your ancestor altar.
              • Bundle the cloth by the four corners and tie it tightly.
              • Keep the bundle on your ancestor altar.
            • To Call on Courageous Ancestors
              • Make sure there is a lit candle and glass of water on your ancestor altar
              • Feed the bundle a few drops of Ancestral Courage formula
              • Recite the prayer you used when you lit the final candle
                • You may use the Kardec prayer given above, an appropriate prayer from your tradition, or pray from your heart
